Heavy rainfall and floods in Germany
On June 21 after compline lightning and thunder started. It rattled and cracked against the windows and the quickly lowered shutters. In no time the gutters were filled with hailstones and overflowed. Roses, flowers and shrubs in the garden were broken.
Later we had more cases of heavy rainfall and floods in Germany. In the night from July 15 to 16 a catastrophic flood struck parts of north-west Germany. Even the maximum effort of fire brigades could not stem it: 183 left dead.
Enormous were then also the efforts to help and the donations. - Who can still doubt the climate change? We are grateful that Germany tries to stick to tougher measures to combat the consequences.
