Abbot Jeremias Schröder elected Abbot Primate

On Saturday 14 September the Congress of Abbots elected the new Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Confederation, Abbot Jeremias Schröder. We know him well as Abbot President of the Congregation of St. Ottilien.

The election took place during the Congress of Abbots being held at Sant’Anselmo in Rome. More than 200 Benedictine abbots from all over the world are present. He succeeds Abbot Gregory Polan from Conception Abbey in Missouri, USA.

The Abbot Primate is our ecclesiastical adviser.

Congratulations and thank you for your readiness!
