On August 15, the Casa community celebrated with the whole Church the solemnity of
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
When we see the Mosaic of Santa Maria Trastevere church in Rome, how
beautifully Mary’s Assumption (dormition) shows us our own destiny. Like Mary, we can look with
hope to the future when we, too, will be taken up into heaven, body and soul,
by Jesus, and also be more fully conformed to her son.
From the common letter of M. Maoro
At the same time we celebrated the Jubilee of 40 years of profession
of Sr. Lugarda Pak, the Casa Coordinator.
During the solemn holy mass she renewed her profession,
reading the profession card and placing it on the altar.
Afterwards, she sang the Suscipe me Domine,
Receive me Lord,
the song of our profession.
All sisters responded,
joining her in her surrender to the Lord.
With M. Maoro Sye, Prioress General,
she brought the gifts, bread and wine, to the altar.
The profession card stays on the altar the whole day,
reminding us of her and our promise.
The celebration continued later during the day with the festive lunch and cutting of the cake.

we are grateful for your fidelity!
