SUR----- Medicines for the Poor in Tanzania

The St. Anna Health Center in Uwemba, founded and managed by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters, is an example of a well-functioning rural health care in the Njombe region in southwestern Tanzania. The hospital currently has a capacity of 87 beds. There are the following departments: General Medicine, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Dentistry, Eye Clinic. Pediatrics. The focus of care is on treating the underprivileged and poor population.

The clinic, which is located in an area with a predominantly rural population, faces considerable financial challenges. Many people in the region cannot afford the cost of treatment. But the nurses' ethical principle is that no one should be turned away. The clinic therefore relies on donations of medicines, particularly for basic, vital drugs for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases. Every year, the nurses need an amount of 18,500.00 euros for medicines.

In addition, the nurses need a device to produce distilled water for infusions. Acquisition costs 2000,00 Euro
