Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday, the Church recalls the entrance of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem
to accomplish the Paschal Mystery.

The Casa community gathered outside the chapel for the blessing of the palm branches.

With palm branches the people greeted Jesus of Nazareth riding on the donkey
as their king:
Hosanna to the Son of David;
blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,
the King of  Israel.
Hosanna in the highest.

We joined them in their acclamation,
as we walked singing and in procession around the house.

In the chapel the holy mass continued with the liturgy of the word.

After two readings we listened to the Passion according to Mark,
read in different roles.

With this solemn liturgy we enter the Holy Week,
celebrating the central mystery of our faith:
suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Almighty ever-living God,
sanctify these branches with your blessing,
that we, who follow Christ the King in exultation,
may reach the eternal Jerusalem through him,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
