Feastday of St. Maur and St. Placid

On January 15, we Benedictines celebrate in a special way the Saints Maur and Placid,
the first disciples of St. Benedict.

On this feast we remember especially our formandees,
the young women, who decide to enter our Congregation,
and are still on the way of becoming full members.

In the Casa Community,
the junior sisters prepared the liturgy
and enriched it with their talents
and youthfulness.

It is at the same time the feast day of our Prioress General,
M. Maoro Sye.
Formandees of the different priories and Generalate District Houses
worked together to prepare a movie to congratulate her.

M. Maoro celebrated her feast day this year while on visitation in Seoul.

On the eve of the feast, the community of Seoul Priory House
had prepared a heart-warming programme.

Together with Prioress Sr. Illumina and Sr. Regina she received a special decoration.

One could see the rescue of St. Placid by St. Maur,
while in the background the traditional Korean fan dance depicted the waves of the water.

M. Maoro received blessings from different sisters in the form of colourful balloons.

The following morning there was festive mass in the priory house chapel,

followed by breakfast with cutting of the cake.

In the evening the whole community watched the movies with congratulations sent from many different communities of our Congregation and the formandees.

May God reward M. Maoro for her tireless service to the Congregation
and may God lead us all together as disciple of St. Benedict to full life!
