“Arise, make haste, my love, my dove, my beautiful one, and come.
For winter is now past, the rain is over and gone.”
With this introitus we opened the festive celebration of St. Scholastica and the thanksgiving for 40 years of faithfulness of M. Maoro Sye, Prioress General
and 60 years of faithfulness of Sr. Aquinata Böckmann.
The festive mass was presided over by Abbot Primate Gregory Polan.
Both, M. Maoro and Sr. Aquinata, renewed their profession in front of the altar
and sang the Suscipe together:
“Sustain me O Lord, as you have promised, that I may live;
and disappoint me not in my hope.”
After being nourished in the chapel by the Word and Body of Christ,
we moved to the refectory for a festive breakfast
together with About Primate Gregory Polan
and his driver Jack.
Truly, it was a day of thanksgiving and awe seeing the wonders God is doing through our lives.
We thank very much Abbot Primate Gregory and his driver for being ready to celebrate with us.
As we found the silver jubilee beautifully marked in our guest book, we want to continue the tradition.
Sr. Hilde artistically marked the day in our guest book for future generations to see and admire.
The profession cards were kept on the altar during the day.
For it is from the paschal mystery celebrated on the altar that our vocation is coming forth.
During the coffee colloquial we blessed Sr. M. Clementina for her journey back to her home priory Windhoek.
We thank God, who in his loving providence called us together as one Congregation and one community!
May St. Scholastica, the dove, the beautiful one, who was known for her powerful prayer, help us arise and make haste to greater heights in our new journey of attentive listening to one another and above all to the voice of the One who called us unto life everlasting.
